What is the free Blue Crane account?
The free Blue Crane Works account at my.bluecraneworks.ca gives a business owner in Hamilton, or anywhere, analytics for their website and shows them how search engines and AI assistants see it. Paste one line on your site, which also proves it is yours, and you see who visits, where they came from (Google, Bing, ChatGPT, Perplexity and the rest), the pages they landed on and who tapped to call or email you. Before that, within about ten seconds of adding the site, you see the real answer each engine's crawler got from your homepage, the plain text an assistant can read from it, and how your name, phone, hours and area compare with what your site states to a machine. What do you see when you sign in?
People per day, where they came from with the AI assistants named as sources, the pages they arrived on, their town, phone or computer, how long they read, and every tap on your phone number or email. It counts people in real browsers and leaves out bots, and it sets no cookies.
One row per crawler, Google, Bing, ChatGPT search, Claude and Perplexity, with the real response each one got this week. Green or red, and the plain reason behind every red. OpenAI documents that a site its search crawler cannot reach is not shown in ChatGPT search; this is where you find out.
Your page beside the words a machine actually gets from it: the title, the heading, the description and the first lines of real text, with a count. A page that looks full in a browser can hand an assistant nineteen words.
Type your name, phone, hours and area once. We compare them with what your website states in its structured data, flag what differs or is missing, and give you the exact text to paste into your Google and Bing listings so all three agree. Add your account to Claude, ChatGPT or any AI app that takes a connector, and ask it about your own business: "how many people found my site through ChatGPT this month?" It reads your analytics, AI answers, checks and facts. On a website we run for you, a separate box, unticked until you tick it, lets it change wording on the site too.
Verify the site with the analytics line, a small tag on your homepage or a DNS record, and the check runs weekly on its own. History is kept, and you are emailed only when a check turns red, never when things stay the same.
What does it cost?
Nothing. The account is free for any business, with up to five sites. It is the same floor-level check we run at the start of every paid job, kept and repeated for you. The analytics plan, $15 a month per website, adds the set-up done for you by a person at Blue Crane, goals (a form sent, a booking made, a page reached), what AI says about you every month with the history kept, a monthly report email, and the history kept for good. Your own custom application sits on the same screen. Clients see their plan and invoices on the Billing page. Those come with a managed website, from a $995 build and $99 a month, or a custom application, from a $1,995 build and $249 a month.
What it does not do
- It does not promise a ranking, a citation or a place in any assistant's answer. Nobody can; Bing says so in writing. It shows what happened.
- It does not change your website on its own. Every red row comes with the fix in plain words, and you or your web person make it, or we do on a plan. The one exception is yours to switch on: on a site we run, your connected AI can change wording once you tick that box.
- It does not show anyone else's site. A site's history appears only in the account that verified it.
- It does not send marketing. Sign-in links when you ask, an alert when a verified site turns red, one reminder if you never add a site, and nothing else. What we store and how to delete it.
How do I create one?
Go to my.bluecraneworks.ca/join, enter your email, and tap the link we send. Add your website on the first screen. The first check runs right away. Then paste the one line the account shows you into your site's head: it proves the site is yours and starts counting visitors. A tag or a DNS record also proves it, if you prefer. Your web person can do it in a few minutes, or the analytics plan has a person at Blue Crane set it up for you.
