Nameplate Live is Blue Crane Works' video calling product: group video calls and webinars for up to 50 people, in the browser, built into a company's own app or website. Guests join from a link with a name and an email, with no download and no account. The host opens and closes the room, can mute everyone and can remove someone. People with no camera or microphone can still watch and type in the room's chat. It is built on WebRTC, the W3C standard every modern browser ships, and runs on Cloudflare Realtime, and it is running today on a ministry's website we built and run.

The grind
- Driving out to look at a problem a two-minute video would have shown
- Customers who will not download Zoom or Teams to talk to you
- A meeting link from a company your customer has never heard of
- Crew meetings that need everyone in the same yard at 7 a.m.
- Webinar tools priced per host, per month, for a call you run once a month
Where is it running today?
On a ministry's website we built and run. Its people meet in live video rooms on its own site: members walk in from their account, visitors join as guests with a name and an email, and the leader opens the room, runs it and closes it. It is the same room we build into a business's app.
| Who | How they get in | What they can do |
|---|---|---|
| The host | Their own account | Open and close rooms, up to five group rooms at once; mute everyone; remove someone, who cannot walk straight back in |
| A member | Their own account | Talk, be seen, use the chat, and open a private one-on-one call |
| A guest | A link, a name and an email, behind a bot check; no account, no download | Talk, be seen and use the chat, in a group room the host has opened to guests |
| Anyone with no camera or microphone | The same way | Watch, listen and type in the chat |
A room holds up to 50 people. Each person sends their video once and Cloudflare's forwarding service passes it to everyone else, which is what lets a phone stay in a busy call. Rooms close themselves when they sit empty, so nothing is left running.
What we build
Video and audio that open on a phone, a tablet or a computer, from a link. Nothing to install, for you or for your guests.
A customer joins with a name and an email, after a quick bot check, so the room stays yours and spam stays out.
Open it, close it, mute everyone at once, or remove someone who should not be there. A removed person cannot simply refresh and walk back in.
Everyone in the room can type, so the person on a laptop with no camera still takes part.
A customer's request in your app opens a call, so you see the leak, the furnace or the damage before you load the truck.
A monthly information night, a training session for your crew, or a walk-through of a quote, under your company's name and on your own site.
What it costs
Priced in writing for each business, before anything is signed, and added to the same monthly bill as your website or app.

How is this different from Zoom or Teams?
Zoom and Teams are excellent at meetings between people who already have them. Nameplate Live is for the person who does not: your customer, who taps a link from your text or your website and is in the call, on a page with your name on it. It does less than Zoom on purpose. It does not record calls or share screens today; if you need either, say so on the call and we will tell you plainly what it takes.
Do I need a Nameplate app?
No. The room running today lives on a website, not an app. It fits best in a Nameplate app, where a call can belong to a customer and a job, and it works on a managed website too, for a public webinar or an open information night.
What it replaces
- Driving out just to look
- "Download Zoom and make an account"
- Per-host webinar subscriptions
- Crew meetings that need everyone in the yard
Who it is for
Service companies that could save a drive with a look first, contractors who walk customers through quotes, and any business that runs information nights or training: trades, clinics, studios, churches and community groups. Available in Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Ancaster, Dundas, Waterdown, Burlington, Grimsby and Brantford, and remotely anywhere in Ontario.
What week one looks like
- A call: who joins your calls, customers, crew or the public, and where the room should live.
- You get a written scope: the rooms, who can open them, whether guests may join, and the price.
- We build the room into your app or site under your name, and run a real call with you to test it.
- Then you send the link.
